ESPN Connector privacy policy
Effective September 7, 2026
Single purpose
The Fantasy Relay ESPN Connector has one purpose: connect fantasy-football leagues from the ESPN account currently signed in to your browser to your Fantasy Relay account.
Data the connector accesses
The connector reads two ESPN session cookie values, SWID and espn_s2. It also obtains the current-season fantasy-football league name, team name, league ID, and team ID associated with that ESPN account. It does not read or collect your ESPN password, browsing history, or data from unrelated sites.
Your choice before transfer
Before reading the SWID, the connector explains its ESPN-only discovery use and waits for you to press Find my ESPN leagues. Before data is sent to Fantasy Relay, the connector shows the leagues it found and explains the transfer. Pro includes every discovered league automatically. A first-time Free user chooses one league; after connection, the others appear as locked upgrade links. You confirm with the share-and-connect action. The connector then sends all freshly discovered league and team IDs and the two ESPN cookie values directly to the Fantasy Relay API over HTTPS. Your browser also attaches your existing Fantasy Relay session so the API can verify that your signed-in account initiated the handoff. The extension does not read or store that application cookie.
Use, storage, and deletion
Fantasy Relay encrypts the ESPN cookie values and identifier-only discovery catalog at rest and uses them only to import and refresh the fantasy data you requested. Free initially imports only your selected league; after RevenueCat verifies a Pro upgrade, Fantasy Relay automatically imports the remaining discovered leagues. Access is limited to your Fantasy Relay account. The extension does not persist ESPN cookies in browser extension storage. Stored provider credentials are deleted when you disconnect the corresponding provider connection.
Fantasy Relay does not sell this data, use it for advertising, transfer it to data brokers, or use it for credit decisions. Fantasy Relay's use of information received from Chrome APIs adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Fantasy Relay personnel do not read connector user data except with your explicit consent for support, when necessary for security or legal compliance, or after aggregation and anonymization for internal operations.
